Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity. The lifestance of Humanism—guided by reason, inspired by compassion, and informed by experience—encourages us to live life well and fully. It evolved through the ages and continues to develop through the efforts of thoughtful people who recognize that values and ideals, however carefully wrought, are subject to change as our knowledge and understandings advance. The Morganton Humanist Alliance holds a general information meeting the first Thursday of every month at 7 PM at the Morganton Community House, which is open to anyone. We also have a 2nd Thursday Gathering where we all meet socially (usually at a local haunt) to engage in discourse and general fellowship. We host a number of family and adult outings throughout the year. **Currently we have suspended our monthly meetings and indoor socials. We are meeting in an outdoor "socially distant" format for our socials. Dates and times will be updated on both our Facebook page and our website.** Our Current Board of Directors Marcia Peterson, President Margaret Dula, Vice President & Membership Chair Isaac Crouch, Treasurer Abigail Taylor, Communications Chair Dennis Wilson Joe Cook Max Sewell Lucy Mull Rob Nelson

Today on FFRF’s Ask An Atheist, Legal Director Rebecca Markert and Director of Strategic Response Andrew Seidel will be talking with Andrew Torrez, an attorney, podcast host and friend of FFRF. They will discuss the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, and the impropriety of filling an open Supreme Court seat during an election, especially if it happens to flip the ideology of the court. If you have questions, comment here or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
